We are excited to announce our first sensory-friendly school show at StoryBook Theater!
StoryBook Theater productions are 55-minute musical fairytale adaptations, written especially for young people ages 3-10, but fun for grown-ups too. Every story includes audience participation, and conveys a positive life lesson for children. StoryBook Theater shows are never scary and always have a happy ending.
We believe that everyone should experience the magic of live theater, which is why we are excited to announce new sensory-friendly shows. These shows are specifically designed for individuals with autism, neurodiversity, Asperger syndrome, Down syndrome, and other sensory-processing disorders and special needs.
During these shows, we will have:
- House lights up higher than standard
- Reduced sound level
- Quiet space for those who need breaks
- Supportive staff and trained ushers
Special ticket price of $9/person with no group minimum. Scholarships are available if needed. Please call our box office to purchase these tickets – 425.820.1800.
This season, we are offering a sensory-friendly school show of Rapunzel.
- May 4th, 10am at Kirkland Performance Center
Free Educator’s Curriculum Guides will be available HERE and contain activities and exercises that meet Washington State EALRs. Download the guides and use them with your class before and after seeing the shows!
